Goa Gajah Temple

( Elephant cave temple )

This temple is very nice to see.

Goa Gajah dates back to the 11th century, built as a spiritual place for meditation. The main grounds are down a flight of steps from the roadside and parking area, which is lined with various art and souvenir shops and refreshment kiosks. Upon reaching the base you will come across a large ‘wantilan’ meeting hall and an assortment of large old stone carvings, some restored to their former full glory. The pool, excavated in 1954, features five out of supposedly seven statues depicting Hindu angels holding vases that act as waterspouts.

Various structures reveal Hindu influences dating back to the 10th century, and some relics feature elements of Buddhism dating even earlier to the 8th century. The cave is shallow; inside are three stone idols each wrapped in red, yellow and black cloths. Black soot lines the cave’s walls as result from the current-day incense burning. Several indentations show where meditating priests once sat. The northern side of the complex is dominantly Buddhist while south across the river it’s mostly Shivaite.

At the southern end are beautiful rice fields and small streams that lead to the Petanu River – another natural site entwined in local legends. Goa Gajah was built on a hillside and as two small streams met here forming a campuhan or ‘river junction’, the site was considered sacred and was built for hermetic meditation and prayers.

Even though the site’s name translates into ‘Elephant Cave’, you won’t find any pachyderms here. Various theories suggest the origin of the name, such as back in time the Petanu River was originally called ‘Lwa Gajah’, meaning the ‘River Gajah’, before it came to be called Petanu River. Other sources state that the ‘Gajah’ or elephant aspect came from the stone figure inside the cave depicting the Hindu lord Ganesh, who is characterised by an elephant’s head.

West National Park is near by Pemuteran Menjangan,the trekking you can start in the morning at 07.00 am or in the afternoon at 15.00 pm.you can do trekking for 2 or 3 hours.you will walk in to the mangrove forest and continue to monsoon forest,in the forest you will see many kind of the tree and if you are lucky you will found many wild animals like black mongkey,gray mongkey,lizard, iguana,dear,bird and many kind of the animal.the trekking will be accompanied by the guide from the national park

Ijen Tour

Ijen tour is one of the famous and nice activity you can do from north west of bali. The trip is About 04.00 early morning we will pick up you from hotel in Pemuteran or menjangan area then drive to take you to the most western tip of Bali to reach Ferry port of Gilimanuk by a private car with AC then upon arrival in Gilimanuk harbor, proceed to take ferry to cross Bali strait for about 1 hour to reach Ketapang ferry port in Banyuwangi (in the most eastern tip of Java Island). After that our 4WD vehicle (jeep) will bring you to the village of Licin and then continue to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining on the Island of Java with giant ferns, plants & big trees, this journey takes approximately 1 hour from the Ketapang harbor. Arrive at the parking area of Mount Ijen, approximately 1 until 1.5 hours will be required to ascend slope of mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen Crater and along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shady. Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulphate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like doom. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth. After enjoyed the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting for escort you to the Bali island with same route and lunch will be served at local restaurant. We will arrive in Bali island or your hotel in the late afternoon.

Fishing Tour

Our village is fisherman village,here you can do fishing with the local fisherman who can speaking english,if your hotel not on the beach,the fisherman will pickup you in the hotel with car and drive you to the beach, from the beach you will go with the fisherman to the ocean to catch many kind of fish.if your hotel is on the beach you just waiting on the beach and the fisherman will pickup you with his boat directly in your hotel beach.the duration for fishing on the ocean is 3 hours and you can start at 06.00 am.the fishing tools is modern and the fisherman will provide the tools and the bait.the fisherman is professional and fun guide

Hiking to Batu kursi temple

In our village we have temple high on the hill called Batu Kursi Temple,from your hotel you have to go by the car a view minute to the parking point and continue hiking for 20 minutes to the top.on the top you will see the temple and you can enjoy the beautiful view of pemuteran village.if you want to see the beautiful sunrise you can start at 05.00 am or if you would like to see the sunset you can start at 05.15 pm.
